Toyota has been honoured with the “Safest SUV Award” for the Land Cruiser at the 2016 Middle East Safest Vehicle Awards, a premier annual award for the region’s automotive industry.
The safety awards were among the key highlights of the recently held Qatar Transport Safety Forum, officially endorsed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications and held under the patronage of HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti. The ceremony was held to recognise excellence in the field of road safety in the Middle East.
From Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros Co (AAB), the prize distribution ceremony was attended by CEO Serdar Toktamis and COO R K Murugan, while the attendees from Toyota Motor Corporation were Takayuki Yoshitsugu, chief representative, Middle East & North Africa Representative Office, and Ismail Yagan, senior PR manager, Middle East & North Africa Representative Office.
On the occasion, Yoshitsugu stressed that Toyota Motor Corporation was always striving to make “better cars with the best standards of safety”.
The safety featured offered in the Land Cruiser include airbags, ABS, BA, electronic brake distribution, active traction control, active height control, crawl control, power door lock (with speed lock), parking sensor, rear fog lamp, tyre inflation pressure warning, fire extinguisher and a first-aid kit, among others, according to a press statement.
“The Land Cruiser is a true go anywhere, all-terrain four-wheel drive SUV that has always exceeded expectations around the globe. It offers elegance, sophistication and luxury while being tough and practical,” the statement noted.
Toyota vehicles are supported by AAB’s after-sales facilities, which include a network of nine service centres located in different parts of the country.
AAB showrooms on airport road and at City Center Doha are open seven days a week.
The main showroom is open from 8am to 9pm, Saturday to Thursday, and, from 5pm to 9pm on Friday. The City Center showroom is open from 10am to 10pm, Saturday to Thursday, and 5pm to 10pm on Friday.
