Alumni of Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) have been honoured recently during the inaugural ‘GCC Entrepreneurs Forum’ held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Manama.
Hisham bin Mohamed al-Jowder, Bahrain’s Minister of Youth and Sport Affairs, presented Asma Saeed al-Kuwari, Maryam al-Semaitt, and Abdulla al-Khenji with the award for best three startup ideas from Qatar.
The alumni showcased their entrepreneurial endeavours and represented Qatar during the exhibition featuring the best youth-driven initiatives from across the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC). Teams from Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain also participated.
The exhibition forms part of the ‘Youth City 2030’ initiative that provides support and guidance to young entrepreneurs in the GCC.
