Low visibility is again expected at some places in the early hours of Friday, the Met department has said.
Visibility may drop to 2km or less in these areas, according to the weather report.
Following the dust storm on Wednesday, windy and dusty conditions were experienced on Thursday as well.
Information available on the Met department’s social media channels showed that blowing dust had led to a drop in visibility (to 1km) in the Umm Bab area on Thursday. “Please be cautious. Have a safe drive,” the weather office tweeted late in the afternoon.
Tweets also pointed to rain being detected east of Dukhan and a thunder cell towards Jumailiyah, with the Met department advising people to watch out for strong winds and low visibility in such places.
The detailed forecast for inshore areas on Friday is misty to foggy conditions in some places at first. This is to be followed by a hot day with some clouds. It will be relatively humid by night.
Hazy to misty conditions are also likely in offshore areas along with some clouds.
On Thursday, a maximum temperature of 45C was recorded in Batna, followed by 44C in Sheehaniyah, Karanah and other places. In the capital, the mercury level reached a high of 43C in the Qatar University and Doha airport areas.
The maximum temperature on Friday is expected to be 42C in Doha and 41C in Al Khor and Abu Samra.
