A senior delegation from Aspetar, the orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital, travelled to New York, USA, to participate in the Sport Performance Summit, a leading industry event organised by the Leaders centre.
The international gathering, taking place on 2-3 June, brings together more than 350 participants from the industry’s most influential practitioners to share insights and best practice, often sparking discussions that help shape the future of sport.
Aspetar’s involvement in this summit fulfils the hospital’s vision to stay at the forefront of the latest developments in sports medicine, helping the hospital assist athletes achieve their maximum performance and full potential.
Dr Mohamed Ghaith al-Kuwari, Acting Director General of Aspetar, led the delegation from Aspetar that also included a number of sports medicine experts.
On day one, Aspetar’s speakers will discuss how individual clinicians can assume leadership and improve our knowledge of one the most challenging problems in sports: groin pain and injury, a problem that have long affected the performance of athletes across the globe.
Aspetar’s visiting orthopaedic surgeon Dr Ulrike Muschaweck, the surgical chief and founder of the Hernia Centre, Munich, will also moderate a session on day one, hosting Dr Adam Weir, Sports Medical Physician, Aspetar, and Timothy Tyler, Clinical Research Associate, ThevNicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma.
On day two, Aspetar will deliver a unique session on comparing the approaches of two stars in their field to dissect what it takes to repeat high-level performance throughout the year by handing self-motivation and preparation for performance.
The Leaders Sport Performance Summit attendees will also be able to visit Aspetar Symposium to observe Aspetar’s latest efforts in sports medicine research and also build relations with sports organisations such as local and international sports clubs and federations.
