Rain and thunder, along with strong winds, are expected in some parts of the country today, the Met department has said.
Al Ruwais, Dukhan and Abu Samra are among the places that are likely to receive rain, according to the weather report.
The forecast for inshore areas says it will be partly cloudy to cloudy, and there is a chance of scattered rain, which may be accompanied by thunder at times. The wind speed may go up to 25 knots in some areas during
thundershowers.
Offshore areas will remain hazy to misty and see partly cloudy conditions. There is also a chance of scattered rain.  
The minimum and maximum temperatures today are expected to be 19C and 27C, respectively, with the forecast for Doha being 21C and 25C.

The victim lost three cheque books when his vehicle overturned in an accident, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday. The accident left him unconscious. Later he underwent a life-saving surgery. It was only when he recovered that he realised the loss of cheque books.
Later, he received a SMS from his bank indicating that a sum of QR950,000 was withdrawn from his account through a cheque.
He reported the issue to the police who arrested the defendant.

Yamaha bike models recalled

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Al Badi Trading and Contracting Company, has announced the recall of Yamaha bikes 42F- R1/R1M models of 2015 because of an imbalance in the gear box.
The MEC said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicles’ defects and repair them.
The MEC will co-ordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.
