The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, general manager of Katara, on Wednesday.
The 30 paintings displayed at the exhibition depict the artist’s “relentless quest to envisage - through transparent contemplation - remarkable global landscapes and landmarks, reflecting the silent beauty of powerful nature and architecture”, according to a statement.
The exhibition runs until March 15.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr al-Sulaiti said: “Katara attaches great importance to hosting the Qatari artist and presenting her experience. The cultural, artistic and national messages of Katara, building on a deeply-rooted tradition, are aimed at supporting artistic Qatari talents in terms of recognition, appreciation and meeting financial needs.
“Once again, I’m glad to see Katara presenting to its public a new, inspiring exhibition by giving the opportunity to a Qatari artist to share her artistic and cultural vision.”
The exhibition displays paintings that “celebrate beauty from Qatar and around the world through initiating an artistic dialogue with touristic destinations from Souq Waqif in Qatar to the city of Mostar and its old bridge in Bosnia and the castles of Norway; and from the lakes and lochs in Britain to the Sultan Abdul Hamid Palace in Turkey, and the breathtaking beauty of Maldives”.
On her part, the artist said: “The exhibition took nine years to be accomplished, and it portrays a mix between the transparent beauty of landscapes and architecture and the purity of water colours.”
