Mowasalat has introduced new buses for inter urban long distance service with additional facilities, the company announced.

These buses have adjustable luxury seating with armrests, separate luggage facilities, next bus stop announcements and display, and a ‘No standing passengers’ policy for enhanced safety and security.

The intercity routes that are now in operation are Al Ghanim bus station to Al Ruwais/Al Shamal, Al Thakhira, Dukhan, Mesaieed Industrial City, Abu Samra, Umm Garn village, Al Kheesa, Al Khor Community, and the corresponding bus routes are 100, 101, 102, 104, 104A, 109, 135, 137, 170, 172 and 102X.

Route number 777 is plying from the Hamad International Airport to West Bay via Corniche road/City Center Doha. Route 300 from Asian town will now cater to Al Sheehaniya residents, especially from the workers camp.

Also, owing to requests received from passengers demand and expected increasing ridership, route number 300 has been extended (as shown in the map) up to Al Sheehaniya (Workers Camp) via Rawdat Rashid from yesterday. The service was hitherto being operated from Asian town to Abu Nakhla.

The extended service will be in operation from 4am 11pm with a frequency of 30 minutes per trip. The last service from Asian town will be at 9pm and return from Al Sheehaniya will be at 10.50pm.

Mowasalat CEO Khalid al-Hail said that the company evaluates and thoroughly analyses all requests for route changes and additional routes to optimise the allocation of resources such as vehicles and drivers.

‘We submit proposals to Ministry of Transport and Communications to verify the feasibility of operations. It is our intention to make sure our services are accessible, comfortable and affordable to our customers,’ he added.
