Qatar Airways has concluded its showcase of latest-technology aircraft at this year’s Singapore Airshow.
Through its participation, the Doha-based airline delivered its hospitality and service to hundreds of officials, executives and fellow members of the aviation industry on board the three aircraft flown in especially for the show – the Airbus A350 and A380 as well as the Gulfstream G650ER.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar al-Baker welcomed Pang Kin Keong, permanent secretary for Singapore’s Ministry of Transport, other senior officials and trade partners on board the three latest-generation aircraft.
Al-Baker said, “Qatar Airways was proud to be a central part of this year’s Singapore Airshow, one of aviation’s greatest gatherings. As we continue to induct more new aircraft into our growing fleet, at the rate of one new plane every 10 days in 2016, events such as the Singapore Airshow allow us to showcase the best and finest of our fleet.
“Qatar Airways has seen the Singapore Airshow grow over the years and our enhanced presence at the airshow this year demonstrates the region’s importance to Qatar Airways.”
With bespoke, customised interiors, Qatar Airways’ varied aircraft display drew crowds to see the latest additions to the airline’s expanding fleet, notably the A350 and the A380, according to a statement.
The A350, for which Qatar Airways celebrated its first anniversary of operations as the global launch customer last month, now flies triple-daily to Singapore, double-daily to Frankfurt and Munich and daily to Philadelphia. It will also soon serve New York City as the second daily flight, and will serve Boston and Adelaide as the airline inaugurates services to those cities in 2016.
The A380 currently flies to Bangkok, Paris and London from Doha.
Visitors to the Singapore Airshow also had the opportunity to view and tour the latest addition to the Qatar Executive fleet – the Gulfstream G650ER.
