The “#iPLEDGE Aster Safe Roads” by Aster DM Healthcare Group in partnership with the Traffic Department has extended the CSR road safety campaign and poster competition until February 29.
Organisers pointed out that the campaign has got overwhelming response across audiences in Qatar and would like to extend the period to enable more participation in the competitions.
The ‘I Pledge’ road safety campaign, where legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is the brand ambassador, was launched on February 4 in Qatar in association with Qatar National Traffic Safety Committee, General Directorate of Traffic and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
Aster Safe Roads campaign focuses on three aspects of road safety messages including wearing seatbelt, not using mobile phones while driving and using zebra lines for pedestrian crossing. Throughout the campaign in the GCC and India, participants are urged to recite their pledges, together with Sachin Tendulkar as the face of the campaign, and post them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter profiles using the
handle #iPLEDGE.
Aster Safe Roads iPledge campaign has so far organised 35 events covering 40,000 people. The events were conducted in malls, supermarkets, schools, parks, corporate houses and with associations.
The ‘iPledge’ Aster Safe Roads campaign conducted a range of activities such as taking pledge with the cut-out of Sachin Tendulkar, traffic awareness brochure distribution in Arabic, English, Malayalam, Hindi, Urdu, Nepalese, Sinhalese and Tamil. They also included poster competitions for schools students, manual and digital poster competition for general public and competition of spot a taxi with ‘iPledge’ through Facebook.
Qatar National Traffic Safety Committee represented by General Directorate of Traffic and Public Relations Department takes part in this event as a part of its ‘One Second’ campaign to elevate road safety to appropriate levels in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and make road safety a priority in life.
