The Losail Circuit Sports Club (LCSC) opened its track for the first time for the general public and got a great response with around 200 fitness enthusiasts turning up. The Losail International Circuit was opened from 5pm to 8:30pm and it was free for anybody who wanted to cycle, run or just walk.
The secure environment of the LIC made it a perfect event for those looking to train without being bothered by the traffic. The uniqueness of being able to use the track under the floodlights was another added attraction in itself.
Many clubs turned up for this event which was held on January 27. This event will be a regular feature on the LIC calendar. The next training sessions will be on the 3rd, 10th and 17th February and on 9th, 23rd and 30th March.
“Our goal is to provide to all the citizens in Qatar a place where families, friends and individuals can come together to improve their health and fitness always in a fun and safe atmosphere. We are very happy with the number of people that registered and I hope that all cyclists, running fans and families will enjoy this initiative,” said Saud al-Attiyah, Chairman of Losail Circuit Sports Club.
