A training programme leading to professional certification in commercial arbitration will be launched today at Qatar Chamber (QC).
The programme is conducted by QC in co-operation with Commercial Arbitration Centre, and Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration at QC headquarters. The current phase of the training programme, which goes on four days, tackles the topic “Arbitration and its legal nature”. It aims at preparing qualified Qatari and GCC arbitrators that could help settle commercial disputes outside the courts and ease such load from the judiciary, which in turn would boost business transactions in the country.
Trainees at the programme will be introduced to a number of related issues including the alternative solutions for resolving commercial disputes outside the court, the various types and perspectives of arbitration, and how to manage arbitration cases.
The programme will give trainees an opportunity for practical training , besides the theoretical classes.
The second phase of the certification programme is expected to be held on February 7 on the procedures of arbitration cases and how to file them.
