Dostonbek Khamdamov etched himself in to the AFC U23 Championship record books on Saturday when he scored the fastest goal in the two editions of the finals of the tournament. The 2015 AFC Youth Player of the Year netted after only 11.47 seconds of his side’s Group C clash with Iraq, and although Uzbekistan went on to lose the tense encounter 3-2, Khamdamov’s strike will be remembered as one of the quickest in AFC history. As rapid as the Uzbek’s effort was, it was still not as quick as Sebastian Soria’s strike for Lekhwiya in an AFC Champions League encounter against Pakhtakor when the Qatari star opened the scoring after only 9.34 seconds of the game in Tashkent.Making up the top three Asian Football Confederation quick-fire goals is Ali Mabkhout who bagged an AFC Asian Cup record when he scored after only 14 seconds of the Group C encounter with Bahrain during the January 2015 continental gathering in Australia.
