Abdulrahman Sadd shot eight three-pointers for his match-high 29 as Al Sadd thrashed Al Ahli 92-66 in the Qatar Basketball League last night.
In a hopelessly one-sided match, Anthony Raffa and Suliman Abdi also excelled for Al Sadd with 24 and 23 points, respectively, to pummel their rivals into submission.
Although at the halfway stage, Al Sadd only led by nine points (45-36), they pulled away with ease afterwards to hold a 74-49 advantage after the third quarter.
The 25-point deficit proved too much for Al Ahli to overcome as they fell away to one of their worst defeats this season.
For Al Ahli, Jimmy Williams was the top scorer with 24 points, while Lamar Demond and Elhadj Seydou had 17 points each.
In another match, El Jaish recorded a 91-73 win over Al Shamal in a contest that appeared too close to call at the midway stage when the winners led 36-34.
Afterwards, El Jaish raised their game a few notches to leave their rivals comfortably behind, leading 62-46 after the third quarter before completing the victory.
Badara Ndoye scored  17 points for El Jaish, while Leon Macklin had 16 and Sammy Monroe 15.
For Al Shamal, Mildon Ambres and Abdelqadir Kosar scored 22 each.
