Total celebrated the National Day at its offices with a variety of Qatar-themed events.
Employees experienced a taste of Qatari hospitality and gained a better understanding of the culture.
Members of Total’s Qatari community conducted a talk on “Why do we celebrate Qatar National Day?”, focusing on the country’s history and traditions.
Everyone was encouraged to come dressed in the national attire or national colours, as well as to decorate the offices with a Qatar-based theme.
Guillaume Chalmin, managing director of Total E&P Qatar and group representative, in his welcome speech expressed his appreciation to the Qatari employees for sharing their culture.
Videos highlighting the nation’s heritage were then shown.
Employees were treated to a Qatari breakfast and traditional beverages, followed later by a Qatari lunch.
There was also an award presentation to the winners of the “My Qatari Space” competition, in which employees transformed their offices in keeping with the National Day spirit. They received the trophy passed on from last year’s winners.
The National Day celebrations will continue until the beginning of next year with a photography and drawing competition for employees and their families, in which contestants will seek to capture the charm of Qatar.
