Rashad Woods scored a game-high 34 points but still finished on the losing side on another day of one-sided matches in the Qatar Basketball League.
At the Al Gharafa Indoor Hall yesterday, Woods’ efforts were in vain as Qatar Sports Club were handed an 85-64 drubbing by Al Ahli.
It was a no-contest from the outset with Al Ahli racing to a 28-9 first quarter lead and then enjoying a whopping 53-18 advantage at the halfway stage.
Although Qatar Sports club pulled up their socks and scored 46 points over the final two quarters, it proved too little too late for them.
For Al Ahli, Jimmy Williams scored 30 points, while Elhadj Seydou and Lamar Demond chipped in with 22 and 20 respectively.
Earlier, Al Sadd thrashed Al Shamal 90-56 after leading 31-6 at the end of the first 10 minutes. That was too much of a lead for Shamal to overcame and they soon caved in without much of a fight.
Khalid Suliman Abdi scored 18 points for Al Sadd, while Brandon Provost had 17 while Mousa Daud Mousa and Abdulrahman Saad netted 13 each.
