Ooredoo has been honoured with 29 awards at the 2015 International Business Awards (IBAs), also known as the Stevies.
This comes as the company continues to integrate business innovation and the development of market-leading product offerings with a strong community-focused approach, according to a statement.
The Group received three Gold Stevie Awards, including Most Innovative Company of the Year (Middle East and Africa), recognising Ooredoo’s leadership in communications and digital services in emerging markets with more than 114mn customers worldwide. The company’s innovations include the latest network developments and newest applications and services that are transforming people’s lives across the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia, the statement notes.
Two additional Gold awards recognised the success of Ooredoo’s Mozaic Go app, an entertainment app that provides a world of entertainment on the go, live TV and videos on demand for customers in Qatar, as well as the revamp of Indosat’s website, Ooredoo’s company in Indonesia.
Dr Nasser Marafih, Group CEO of Ooredoo, said: “The Stevie award wins demonstrate the success and impact of Ooredoo’s wide-ranging initiatives, developed and sustained throughout the year.”
Ranked number one, Ooredoo also received the Grand Stevie Award, which is determined by a points system based on the total numbers of awards won. It is the second year in a row that Ooredoo is included in the top 10 among all other organisations honoured in the 2015 IBAs.
An additional eight Silver Stevie Awards and 17 Bronze Stevie Awards further recognised Ooredoo’s outreach work and the successful impact of many of these initiatives, including two Silver Stevies for CSR Programme of the Year in two regions, namely the Asiacell Programme for Refugees and Displaced People (Middle East & Africa) and Myanmar Connect Women (Asia, Australia and New Zealand), the statement adds.
Other Silver Stevies include Company of the Year – Telecoms, Brand Experience of Year – Marketing Campaign, Consumer for the Messi campaign, Best New Product of Service of the Year for IdeaBox, Best Interface Design (Website) for Ooredoo Fans Do Wonders and Motivational Video for both the Paris Saint-Germain Academy and the Simply Do Wonders – The Winners Meet Messi videos.
Ooredoo also received 17 Bronze Stevie Awards, including Executive of the Year going to Dr Marafih and Chairman of the Year recognising the work of his Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohamed bin Saud al-Thani.
Other Bronze Stevies include Corporate Social Responsibility Programme of the Year for the Ooredoo Cancer Centre in Doha, Best Non-Profit/Charity Fund Raising Event for the Mobile Health Clinics launch in Jogya, Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Media Relations for Ooredoo Algeria’s Media Star Contest, Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Social Media Focused for the Messi Social Media Global Campaign, Brand Experience of the Year – Consumer for Oman Rebranding, Best New Product or Service of the Year – Consumer Services for Indosat Carrier Billing for the Google Play Store, Best New Product or Service of the Year – Telecoms Service for Ooredoo Algeria’s Oobarmijoo, Best Marketing or Sales Brochure online and electronic for Ooredoo’s Digital Rebrand, Best Overall Web Design for Simply Do Wonders, Game App for JagoCatur, Integrated Mobile Experience App for iCity, Best Service Sales video for Indosat Carrier Billing for the Google Play Store, Best Telecoms Website for  Ooredoo Community and Best new Product or Service of the Year for MayMay.
