HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari honoured yesterday the winners of the GCC Visual Art Forum’s competition.  
In fine art’s, Bahrain’s Zohair Said and Marwa al-Khalifah won first and third place. The second place went to Oman’s Eissa al-Mofarji. Khalid al-Rawahi, also from Oman, won the first prize in Arabic calligraphy.    
The minister expressed his satisfaction with the level of this year’s entry. HE al-Kuwari revealed that Qatar’s proposition of holding a permanent GCC arts exhibition was welcomed by all GCC culture ministers. The Minister said that such events help enrich artistic dialogues between GCC citizens.  
On Sunday, the Minister inaugurated the third Doha forum for GCC artists which is organised by the Visual Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture, and third GCC visual arts which is held annually in a GCC state and is being hosted by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the GCC General Secretariat.  
The event was attended by a group of artists and critics from Qatar and the other Gulf states, among others. There are a number of artists participating in the two forums which will continue until November 11.
