A show in progress at Katara.

Eid al-Adha festivities at Katara – the Cultural Village are set to conclude today.
The special shows and attractions held as part of the celebration have been a big draw so far with a diverse audience, Katara said in a statement yesterday.
The shadow performance, held on a stage set up opposite the Katara amphitheatre, has been one of the highlights over the past three days. It features hi-tech sound and light technology.
Performed by 12 artistes from a Ukrainian troupe, the half-an-hour show is being staged at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm every day.
“This spectacular show has made Katara a favourite destination for my two kids over the last two days. I really like the way the show unfolds; it starts with silent art before turning into a shadow game prior to the start of the shadow theatre, to be eventually followed by the fireworks,” said Anerban Rajish, a visitor.
The fireworks display has been another major highlight of the Eid al-Adha celebration at Katara. A large number of visitors head to the esplanade to watch the dazzling 10-minute display.
Nora Khulaif, a visitor from Bahrain, said: “For the third consecutive year, Katara has been our destination during Eid, specifically Eid al-Adha. My two children used to take the giveaways distributed by Katara as souvenirs to refresh their memories about their visit to Qatar.”
Katara has continued to amuse children by distributing giveaways among them every day during Eid, from 7pm to 8.30pm, at its esplanade.
Visitors of the Cultural Village can also take a look at exhibitions by Qatari artist Ali Ahmad al-Mulla (an exhibition of faces, captured in colour, Building 22) and Abdulrahman al-Snaidi (a history of computers).
