Ooredoo-Doha Cricket Club (DCC) won the Ramadan T20 Cricket Tournament by defeating Elite Force Chaudhry Cricket Club by eight wickets in the final at the Asian Town cricket stadium
recently.
The tournaments was organised by Ibin Ajayan Project and How Automobile Centre. A total of 18 teams participated in the tournament held under floodlights during the holy month.
Ooredoo-DCC defeated Al Feroz and Elite Force Chaudhary beat Galfar Al Misnad in the semi-finals.
Trophies and prizes were handed over to the teams by officials representing the organisers.
Khalid Mohamed al-Ahbabi of Ibin Ajayan and Mohamed Hussain Chaudhary of How Automobile Centre presented the champions’ trophy, along with a cheque of QR50,000, to Kamal Kaldane, Yunus Thakur and Awais Malik of
Ooredoo-DCC.
Ejaz Chaudhary handed over QR25,000 and the runners-up trophy to Iqbal Chaudhary, captain of Elite Force Chaudhary, while Riyaz Cheeroth handed over QR500 along with the man of the final trophy to Omran Hussain of Ooredoo-DCC, who took five wickets.
Officials also handed over trophies and cheques to other high-achievers of the tournament.
Selex Cricket Club, Doha Bank Cricket Club and Shah XI bagged the fair play award trophies.
Sajjad Chaudhary, organiser of the tournament, distributed mobile phones among the public to appreciate their support and presence on the ground.
