Representing Qatar, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud yesterday attended the inauguration ceremony of new Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
Al-Mahmoud conveyed greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to President Buhari and his wishes of further progress and prosperity to relations between the two countries to serve the common interests of the two friendly people.
On Thursday night, al-Mahmoud attended a dinner banquet hosted by Nigeria’s outgoing president Goodluck Jonathan in honour of the guests, including heads of state, government, ministers and dignitaries in the presence of the newly-elected president.
Qatar’s ambassador to Nigeria, Abdulaziz bin Mubarak al-Muhannadi, also attended the inauguration ceremony.
