Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has promoted Khalefa Saif al-Mesalam to become its new head of Human Capital Group. Previously, al-Mesalam has been working as acting head of Human Capital, as well as head of recruitment for QIB.
Al-Mesalam boasts of a 15-year banking experience, with a blend of retail banking and human capital management expertise gained while working with leading international and regional banks.
He started his banking career in the retail banking division and progressed to various lead roles in customer service, branches network and human resource quality control, and recruitment. He joined QIB in 2011 as head of talent acquisition and manpower planning, a division within the Human Capital Group.
Bassel Gamal, CEO, QIB said, “Al-Mesalam has climbed the professional ladder within QIB with absolute adeptness and commitment.”
“His promotion is in line with the bank’s strategy of developing and promoting national talent from within the organisation,” Gamal explained.
He added, “QIB is continuously increasing the role of talented and qualified Qataris in the leadership team of the bank, and to this end, QIB’s on-going Learning and Development Programme is targeted to encourage local talents to assume senior
management roles.”
