Emir, PM send cable of congratulations to Kenya

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has sent a cable of congratulations to President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya on the occasion of the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani has also sent a cable of congratulation to President Uhuru Kenyatta, on the occasion of the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day.

Envoy hails QND as celebration of happiness

Palestinian Ambassador to Qatar, Munir Ghannam, has described Qatar National Day (QND) as a celebration of pleasure for a young nation that witnesses a great renaissance in all walks of life and a remarkable social development.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) Ghannam said the State of Qatar is keen to achieve excellence and cope with the advanced nations of the world with strong keenness on maintaining contacts with its deeply-rooted Arab and Islamic culture thus seeking modernity while adhering to its ancient roots.

He added that close fraternal relations are binding the Palestinians and the State of Qatar because Qatar has been firmly supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and considers the Palestinian problem at the top of its priorities and attention and never refrained from providing all forms of support and assistance to our struggling people in face of the Zionist occupation designs. “We are sure that Qatar will press ahead with its principle stances in support of our people until we gain freedom and establish our independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

Chinese diplomat congratulates Qatar

The Ambassador of China to Qatar, Gao Youzhen, extended his congratulations to the Qatari leadership and people on the occasion of Qatar National Day (QND).

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Chinese diplomat said the QND is a symbol of development and progress realised by Qatar in the political, economic, trade, cultural, social and welfare fields, noting that celebrating the event is a gesture to recognise the achievements of the founder and the generations that worked incessantly to create a modern state that uniquely combines tradition and modernity.

He added: “Qatar has evolved through years into an important power in the region and the world, and its development is tied to the past. We in China commend the efforts being exerted by the current and past leaders towards the development of their homeland.”

The Chinese ambassador commended the bilateral relations between his country and Qatar based on mutual respect, protection of the national sovereignty and the principle of non-interference in a state’s internal affairs.
