Envoy presents credentials
President of Singapore Tony Tan Keng Yam yesterday received the credentials of Mohamed bin Ali al-Ali al-Maadheed, ambassador of Qatar. The ambassador conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the president of Singapore, as well as his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the government and the people of Singapore. The Singaporean president
reciprocated the Emir’s greetings and wished the ambassador success in his
duties.


Emir appoints new envoys
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the following Emiri Decisions appointing ambassadors.
1. Emiri Decision No 142 for 2013 appointing Rashid Mirza Mahmoud al-Mulla as ambassador of Qatar to Cuba.
2. Emiri Decision No 143 for 2013 appointing Sultan Saad Sultan Khalaf al-Muraikhi as ambassador of Qatar to Greece.
3. Emiri Decision No 144 for 2013 appointing Sultan Salmeen Saeed al-Mansouri as ambassador of Qatar to China.
4. Emiri Decision No 146 for 2013 appointing Abdullah Abdulaziz Mohamed al-Mana as ambassador of Qatar to Bangladesh.


Congratulatory cables sent
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent cables of congratulations to President Georgy Margvelashvili on winning the elections in Georgia.



Qatar-Mauritania ties discussed
Mauritania Defence Minister Ahmedou Ould Idey Ould Mohamed Rahdi yesterday met Qatar’s Ambassador Abdulrahman bin Ali  al-Kubaisi in Nouakchott. Separately, the Mauritanian Minister of Commerce, Handicraft and Tourism Bamba Ould Daramane, also met Ambassador al-Kubaisi.  Bilateral relations and means to develop them were discussed during the meetings.


Envoy presents credentials
Vice-President of Ecuador Jorge Glas yesterday received the credentials of Hassan Ibrahim al-Malki,  ambassador of Qatar to Ecuador.
The Ecuadorian vice-president wished the ambassador success in his duties, assuring him of all support for advancing bilateral relations.
