Salwa service road to be closed for work
A section of Salwa service road (Al Assiri interchange -Al Waab stretch) will be closed from 5pm on Thursday and will reopen at 11am on Saturday, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has said. The closure is part of development work on Salwa service roads. D-Ring Road users coming from New Salata area and heading to Salwa Road will use the alternate roads during the closure. Upon completion, Salwa Road will facilitate travel through its new four lanes in each direction, and four underpasses; in addition to development of four new interchanges. Salwa Road development is part of the Expressway programme - a nationwide road infrastructure programme to improve connectivity across Qatar.Ashghal also informed that it would carry out upgrade of treated sewerage network in Zone No. 44 in Nuaija.Work on the project will lead to a temporary closure of a junction at Mesaimeer Street near E-Ring Road and the diversion of traffic to use alternate road. Work will start tomorrow and will last until July 8. The closure will include only one lane on Mesaimeer Street keeping the road open for those heading north, while drivers who want to go right at the junction will need to use the alternate roads.
