Filipinos cross a road using their umbrellas to take shelter from the rain in Quezon City, east of Manila yesterday. The Philippines’ weather bureau is monitoring tropical depression ‘Emong’ (local name), which has been estimated to be 280km east of Virac, Catanduanes region in the eastern Philippines and is moving west-northwest at 11km per hour.
