The Advisory Council held its weekly session under its Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Kholaifi.
The Advisory Council Secretary-General Fahd bin Mubarak al-Khayareen read out the agenda, which was then approved.
Later the Council endorsed the minutes of its previous session.
The Council reviewed a draft law on the establishment of the Health and Education Fund, in the presence of Dr Hassan bin Lahdan al-Muhannadi, director of the Emiri Diwan’s Legal Affairs Department.
The Council decided to submit a report to the Cabinet.
Meanwhile, the Advisory Council’s Financial and Economic Affairs Committee met yesterday at its White Palace headquarters under its Rapporteur Mohamed Ajaj al-Kubaisi.
The committee studied a draft law on tax on the revenues of hotels and tourist restaurants.
The committee decided to invite specialists at the Ministry of Economy and Finance to attend its next meeting and give the Ministry’s opinion on the draft law.
Qatar-Serbia ties reviewed
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud met the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications of Serbia Rasim Ljajic and his accompanying delegation.
They discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing and developing them in all fields, as well as a number of issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by the non-resident ambassador of Serbia to Qatar Mihailo Brkic.

Vodafone Qatar continues to expand its mobile user base in Qatar, recording a growth of 30% over the year to have 1,084,000 customers as of March 31, 2013. |
“We are proud that in just three years of operations, more than 1mn customers have chosen to become Vodafone users. To have 56% of the population using our services is a great achievement for our shareholders, staff and partners,” said Vodafone Qatar CEO Richard Daly.
Vodafone will report its financial results for the year ended March 31 following a board meeting on June 3.
