Al-Athba wins trap gold at Emir Shooting C’ship

Rashid Hamad al-Athba won gold in the men’s trap event on the final day of the HH The Emir Shooting Championship at the Qatar Shooting and Archery range.

Al-Athba had made it to the semis after finishing at the top in the qualifying with a total of 117 after five rounds. In the semis too he was ahead of the rest with a score of 14.

Ali Hamad al-Athbi went on to bag silver, while the bronze was won by Ali Mohammed al-Kuwari, who brushed aside the challenge from Mohammed al-Rumaihi.

In the women’s Trap final, Kholood al-Khalaf defeated Amna al-Abdulla 11-9.

Al-Khalaf was in the lead after the semis by one point and had finished the qualifying round on 70 after three rounds. The bronze went to Nawal al-Khalaf.
