Qatar Airways has welcomed the recent Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement between Qatar and European Union, which it said is “far more relevant and modern” than any other related to air transport.

Qatar Monday signed the Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement with the European Union, "ushering in a new chapter of cooperation" in the field of air transportation between Qatar and EU countries.

The Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement (CATA) signed between European Union and Qatar "creates strong foundations for a long-term relationship promoting fair and free trade, high standards and a single set of rules and values," said European Commission vice-president Jyrki Katainen.

Qatar and the European Union have “concluded negotiations” for a landmark Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement, which may take effect before the year-end.
