The initiative has been launched by the MEC for the fifth year in row aiming at creating a balance in prices at the local market, which experiences a surge in demand for sheep ahead of and during Eid Al Adha.

Widam Food Company has opened a new abattoir for slaughtering camels, which is considered the first of its type in the country. It is located at the Central Market inside the automated slaughterhouse.
Ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha, Widam Food Company is set to sell subsidised Arabic sheep to Qataris, from Sunday until September 13.
