The ongoing diplomatic and trade embargo notwithstanding, overseas investors appear to be bullish on Qatar's macro fundamentals as Doha's inward foreign investments reported a 5% year-on-year gain to QR682.3bn during the second quarter (Q2) of this year, according to official estimates.
World-class infrastructure coupled with incentives and legislative framework regulating foreign investments in Qatar, among other measures, have made the country’s free zones at par with those in the international community, according to Manateq CEO Fahad Rashid al-Kaabi.
Of the QR676.4bn total foreign investments, foreign direct investments (FDI) amounted to QR123.1bn or 18.2% of the total.
