The prices of different varieties of fish have been stable at the Al Wakrah market of late and these are generally available in good quantities as well, it is learnt.
The fish availability in the local markets has been hit heavily in the last few days as adverse weather conditions took a heavy toll on the fishing activities in the waters around Qatar.
The fish market at Umm Slal Central Market has seen a considerable supply of local fish in good quantity, which helped in bringing down prices, in particular after the Eid holidays, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported on Friday.
Prices of a number of varieties of fish has remained at 'affordable levels' in the main market of at Umm Slal while they continue to be high at most of the retail markets, except stalls at some of the hypermarkets, it is learnt.
