The cruise season, which continued from October 2017 until this April, witnessed 14 mega ships making calls and a number of maiden voyages into Doha.
Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has opened a representative office in Mumbai, India – the 11th in a network of offices around the globe, it was announced.
Representatives of QTA’s global offices, along with members of the local tourism industry, discussed ways on how to increase the impact of international promotion campaigns.
The shopping festival has partnered with more than 100 budding entrepreneurs and local businesses to provide a platform that will bring them closer to customers and broaden their market reach.
“It is looking great, we are seeing more people here, from Kuwait and Oman, and other international visitors due to the new visa policies,” noted Alshaima al-Shaikh, head of tourism events at QTA.

QTA noted that MSC Splendida, the second member of the MSC Cruises family to visit Doha, is scheduled to make four more calls throughout the 2017/18 cruise season.
