More than 100 members and their families attended a family fun day hosted by the Indian Medical Association (Qatar chapter)  and Indian Doctors Club recently in Mesaieed.
A host of cultural items were presented by the participants and prominent among them was a Bharatnatyam performance by Palak Barman.
A musical show featuring Dr Godwin Wilson and daughter Carol Godwin also went down well with the participants. The cultural evening was compered by Dr Sonia Sequiera. Dr Maneesh Khanna conducted “Morphomania”, a unique quiz show which had the audience in splits. The gathering was also shown about how images could be morphed and recreated. 
The highlight of the day’s event was a fascinating fashion show by the ladies, who walked the ramp displaying traditional Indian wear designed by ‘Ayeshmaris’, an Indian designer boutique in Doha. Children’s participation in the show had the audience spellbound.
Dr Sreekumar Padmanabhan’s live painting show was another treat for the crowd. A musical orchestra by Vinod and team enlivened the proceedings. Dr Sameer Kalandan and Dr K Sujatha rendered an array of popular numbers.
There were also a number of entertainment events for the kids. Some of the families also enjoyed an overnight desert safari, organised by the IMA in coordination with Babu John and Dr Mohan Thomas.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by chief guests, CEO of Galfar al Misnad, Fayaz Khan (Al Zaman Exchange), Unnikrishnan (State Bank of Travancore) and Thomas Skaria (LG Home Appliances).IMA president Dr Krishna Kumar welcomed the gathering.
