College of the North Atlantic Qatar (CNA-Q) yesterday announced Qapco and ExxonMobil Qatar as the platinum and silver sponsors, respectively, of its upcoming 2012 Education & Career Expo.
The annual event welcomes high school students from around Qatar to visit the campus, meet instructors and students and learn about the wide variety of programmes on offer.
“This event is an opportunity for us to highlight the great facilities we have to offer; from smart classrooms to real-world labs in Health Sciences and Engineering Technology, we are able to offer a unique learning experience to our students,” said CNA-Q president Dr Ken MacLeod.
In addition to the displays by over 30 CNA-Q programmes, corporate exhibits give current and future students a chance to meet with employers and explore sponsorship and employment opportunities.
Qapco is returning to the event after a successful recruitment effort at the 2011 Expo.
“Our collaborations with educational institutions such as CNA-Q are the key to future growth and together we can really make a difference,” said Qapco vice chairman and CEO Dr Mohamed Yousef al-Mulla. “Together Qapco and CNA-Q will make a difference to our future leaders, resulting in a huge difference in Qatar.”
ExxonMobil Qatar, a long-time supporter of CNA-Q and its students, returns to the Expo as silver sponsor in 2012. Observing that CNA-Q and ExxonMobil enjoy a long-standing relationship, national development manager Abdul Latif al-Naemi, pointed out the company has also provided scholarships for the past few years to a number of talented students.
CNA-Q is a leading force in the State’s Qatarisation efforts, with Qatari students comprising over 65% of the current student population.
Since opening in 2002, CNA-Q has worked closely with industry to provide the best technical training available in Qatar and is committed to meeting and exceeding the goals brought forward in Qatar National Vision 2030.
CNA-Q’s 2012 Education & Career Expo is a three day event, including a VIP opening on January 31, visits from boys and girls schools as well as a public night on February 1.
