Participants at this year’s Qatar Motor Show from the Italian Association of Automotive Industry (Anfia) are hoping to enhance their presence in the regional and local markets through a range of products that they feel would meet the requirements of the automobile lovers.
Anfia, made up of 270 companies engaged in the automobile industry, including luxury buses, has four members represented at the exhibition.
“Our plan is to make an entry into the region’s automobile market with some unique vehicles that would go down well with the aspirations of the vehicle buffs here,” said Emanuele Bedetti, head of sales and marketing of Touring Superleggera, which has made the Middle East premiere of the Gumpert Tornante at the show.
The company official said that at this point in time, there is no doubt that no other place in the region is as appealing as Doha to launch Tornante.
The car, a limited edition vehicle, is coach-built on demand from customers from across the world at the company’s workshop in Milan.
According to Bedetti, the company will provide homologation papers authorising the registration in every country accepting the EU homologation rule.
“It would take us about one year for us to manufacture the car on receiving the order,” he said.
The company is looking at the possibility of exclusive designs to be executed in a single unit only, to be privately shown to the discerning Middle Eastern clients willing to discuss the project of their next one-off supercar.
