A technical seminar on ‘Nano-medicine: An emerging technology in the field of medical applications’ was held recently by the Qatar chapter of The Institution of Engineers (India).
Jyoti Menon, a PhD scholar in bio-engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington, US, was the guest speaker. She gave a presentation on various aspects of nano-medicine and her research in this field.
Nano-medicine is an emerging field in biomedical engineering which focuses on the application of nanotechnology to diagnose and treat various diseases, ranging from seemingly harmless skin wounds to cancer and other ailments/diseases which were previously considered incurable.
Seenu Pillai, chapter’s honorary secretary, welcomed the gathering and presented a plaque to Jyoti.
Executive committee member Abdul Hameed Pathiyil compered and conducted the proceedings. Syed Raziulla proposed a vote of thanks.
