Al-Merri speaking at the Noble Indian School’s annual day celebrations
The services of Indian expatriates were praised by a Qatari official at the annual day celebrations of Shemford Noble International School recently.
While lauding the contributions made by the country’s Indian community, Supreme Education Council’s senior officer (private education) Hamad al-Gali al-Merri specially mentioned the efforts made by Indian schools for the academic improvement of children of many communities, besides children from the Indian community.
Al-Merri also inaugurated the public meeting held as part of the celebrations.
First secretary (political and education) at the Indian embassy M R Qureshi was the chief guest.
Patron of the school Ali Jassim al-Malki and Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) acting president Habib ul-Nabi also attended the function.
Headmistress Shaheen Akhtar welcomed the guests. Acting principal Letha Jacob presented the annual report.
Nobel Indian Educational Society chairman Husain Mohamed chaired the meeting. General convenor of the school society Abdul Rahim Kunnummal felicitated the function.
Prizes were presented to schoolchildren who excelled in different fields.
