The fair, being organised by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage under the patronage of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, will be inaugurated by HE the Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari.
In all, some 456 participants from Qatar, Austria, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Turkey, Japan, Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iran, India, the US, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Kuwait, Bahrain, Morocco, Sweden, Sudan, Syria, the UK and France, will bring latest editions of books published in their respective countries.
Costs of books will range from QR5 - QR500 at the fair.
Apart from books, top writers from the Arab world will share their experiences with participants throughout the event.
Iran is the “owner participant” of the fair this year.
Ministry of Arts secretary general Nasir al-Khalifa, Ministry of Culture secretary general for awards (science, cultures and literature) Saoud al-Ghanim, exhibitions director and national library director Abdakkah al-Ansari and finance department director Jabril al-Humeidi and other senior officials attended the meeting.
