The secret of Ed Miliband’s growing confidence in public may be out — he has hired a “leadership consultant”. The Labour leader has been coached by an expert in sports psychology from ExtendedMind on how to cope with pressure. The firm offers training to get rid of anxiety, and “improving body language, breathing, posture and prosody”. It is unclear the exact role the firm has played for the Labour leader as a party spokesman declined to provide details but failed to deny the company has been hired. Rivals jeered at Miliband for seeking advice, with Tory Michael Ellis saying: “He’s had to hire someone to tell him how to act like a leader.”
