HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani met with chief executive officer of Bloomberg Media Scott Havens, who is visiting Qatar to participate in the Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg.
During the meeting, they discussed arrangements for participation in the forum and exchanged views on the topics on its agenda.
Also, they reviewed prospects for co-operation in areas of common interest, highlighting the investment incentives provided by the Qatari economy, and the initiatives launched by the state to support the private sector and attract foreign investments.
In a separate context, HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani accompanied a visiting delegation of senior officials on a tour of Al Thumama Stadium, which is part of the Qatar Economic Forum's programme.
They were briefed on Qatar's preparations to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.
The delegation included President of the Republic of Togo Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe Eyadema along with some dignitaries, including Scott Havens and a large number of the Higher Organising Committee of the Second Qatar Economic Forum 2022, in addition to representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the country, executives of several banks, major local and international companies, and a large group of local and international media representatives.
During the tour, the delegation was briefed on the various facilities of Al Thumama Stadium and its preparedness to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches.
The stadium is located 12 kilometres south of the heart of Doha and will host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches from the group stage matches to the quarter-finals.
The design of the stadium was inspired by the gahfiya, the traditional headgear worn by men and boys across the Arab world.
