Sundaresan Rajeswar, board member, contact person, chief adviser, and past president of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Qatar, has been nominated to the Global Advocacy Advisory Council for two years, 2021-23.
Rajeswar is one of the chapter's founder members and has served on the board since its inception 15 years ago.
He had previously served in the Research and Education Committee of the IIA Global for three years, 2016-19, and has been in the Global Council, a thought leadership body of the IIA, for the past ten years.
“The councils help to determine and drive IIA priorities. It is through contributions of members like you that the IIA has been able to maintain its leadership in advancing the profession of internal auditing,' stated Charles T. Wright, chairman of the Board Nominee, in his letter of invitation to Rajeswar.
The IIA's strategic plan includes raising the profile of and demand for internal audit and ensuring the profession is recognised as an indispensable resource by key stakeholders. One of the principal tools in accomplishing this goal is advocacy.
