The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) Tuesday recorded 982 confirmed new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), with 1394 people recovering in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recoveries in Qatar to 81564. The total death toll so far is 113.
?The Ministry also announced the introduction of 9 cases to intensive care, bringing the total number of cases currently receiving intensive medical care to 200.
The Ministry said the decrease in the number of daily cases that require intensive care is because the number of daily cases that require hospitalization is decreasing, but warned that infections may rise again if the community's commitment to precautions and preventive measures decreases.

The Ministry explained that the new cases were diagnosed through the emergency departments or different health centers. The infection transmitted to the new cases are from people who had been previously infected and the Ministry of Public Health's continues investigative and proactive investigations contributed to early detection of the cases.
The new confirmed cases are completely isolated in the various medical facilities in the country, where they are receiving the necessary health care according to the health status of each case.
The Ministry said that the spread of the coronavirus epidemic is gradually declining in Qatar due to the precautions and preventive measures implemented by the state and the commitment to them it by members of the community. Though this can be considered as a reassuring indicator, it does not mean the end of the epidemic as the virus is still present in the community.
The Ministry indicated that the number of daily infections among citizens and residents (other than expatriate workers) has increased compared to what it was in May, despite the overall decrease in the total daily infections in Qatar.  The Ministry cautioned that most of the infections in these two categories are those belong to the same families, and that the source of the infections is often social mixing with friends or other relatives. So the Ministry urged tp take care to not to transmit the virus, especially to the elderly and those with chronic diseases.
In this context, the Ministry advised the community to be more careful than before and to continue physical distancing, hand washing, wearing protective face masks and being more careful when near elderly family members or those with chronic diseases. Also, the number of social visits should be reduced and if absolutely necessary, should be limited them to 15 minutes while keeping safe distance.
With the start of the second phase of the gradual lifting of the restrictions starting Wednesday, July 1, 2020, the Ministry of Public Health reaffirmed the importance of adhering to the requirements of the new phase.
The Ministry stressed that the transition from one phase of easing restrictions to another is subject to the cooperation of all members of society and their sticking to the precautionary measures, and adhering to the procedures put in place by the Council of Ministers, including wearing masks while going out and downloading the Ehteraz mobile application.
The Ministry warned that the gradual lifting of restrictions does not mean lax implementation of precautionary measures, because the virus is still present in the community.
The Ministry stressed that in the event of a decline in the degree of caution among members of society, it is very likely that the epidemic will return again as a new wave of the spread.
The Ministry stated that through people's commitment to preventative measures and limiting the spread of the virus, it is possible to enter the next phase of lifting restrictions but it depends on the extent to which people comply with the measures such as avoiding family visits as much as possible. The Ministry of Health has developed indicators through which it evaluates both daily and weekly situation then submitting recommendations to the Cabinet regarding the progress and transition from one stage to another of the easing plan.
The Ministry also urged anyone with symptoms of Covid-19 to contact the unified helpline (16000), or to go to one of the virus testing centers, since the earlier detection of the disease results in a better chance of recovery. The main screening centers include Muaither Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Umm Slal Health Center, and Al Gharafa Health Center.
The Ministry advised the public to visit its dedicated website for the latest information and instructions related to Covid-19.
