Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has hailed Qatar, noting that the country “is a wonderful example of being small and being successful, strong and powerful.”
He said small countries also have their voice in a multipolar world, adding that there are several such nations that set an example with clear vision and understanding and by making use of their resources. Sarkissian was addressing a plenary session at Doha Forum 2019 yesterday. The president said the world is changing and has become multipolar. “The world is facing complexities of becoming multipolar and unpredictable things are happening. And the world is confused,” he said.
Sarkissian affirmed that “small things have got talent and power and the power of small is getting its place in the world”. “Small countries have their voice. And Armenia has emerged to be an example by attaining development in various sectors. “The country is providing standard education equivalent to that of advanced countries and securing development,” he noted.
He said thousands of Armenians are working outside the country and expatriates from the country are good survivors and citizens outside their home country. “The new world is complex and multipolar. And we have to understand the technology and realities,” he said, appealing to small countries to look around and understand things.
“Today, the world is more multipolar and complex than we were expecting. We are entering a new page in history. We ask more questions today than there are answers and there’s more uncertainty than certainty.”
