Getit Group launched its first retail mart and fulfilment centre on Monday. 
The opening ceremony was hosted on the premises of their new mart at the GWC Bu Sulba Warehousing Park and attended by several distinguished leaders from different industry sectors, followed by various cultural programmes. The event was inaugurated by Indian ambassador P Kumaran. “Everyone is very excited about the pioneering initiate of Getit.qa in the Qatari market and their new strategies to expand e-commerce here,” he said in his inaugural speech. 
“Today, this mart is being opened as a combination of both traditional retail business and e-commerce. In addition to satisfying customers all over the State, our mart will be highly beneficial to the region adjacent to the GWC Bu Sulba Warehousing Park for their daily shopping needs and, further, this venture will support in the future development of this Birkat Al Awamer area,” said managing director of Getit Group, Khalid Mubarak al-Kaabi, in his address. 
The chief operating officer of GWC, Rajeswar Govindan, also spoke on the benefits of a retail mart in the area.
The function was also attended by Abdul Aziz Nasser al-Khalifa, CEO of Qatar Development Bank; Surinder Bhagat, first secretary (P&C) at the Indian embassy; Mohsin al-Emadi, managing director of Al-Wefac Al-Khaliji Trading and Contracting; Syed Maaz, director, Business and Transformation, GWC; Babu Raj, president of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum; AP Manikandan, president of the Indian Cultural Centre; Razim Ahamed Syed, chief development officer, AAP Group; and Jaffer TK, operations manager, AAP Group.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from the group’s director, Poulose Theppala.
