Tunisian Minister of Equipment, Housing and Spatial Planning Noureddine Selmi praised the efforts of the office of Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) in Tunisia, adding that these efforts come as part of the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and within the objectives of sustainable development.
Addressing the Committee of Rights and Freedoms in the Tunisian Parliament Selmi stated that one of the objectives of the office is to help Tunisian cities and villages to integrate the new global urban agenda and the goals of sustainable development, especially when it comes to chaotic construction and regional disparities.
The Minister of Equipment, Housing and Spatial Planning said that Qatar Fund for Development seeks to alleviate poverty, create jobs and improve services and infrastructure, especially when it comes to water, sanitation, transport and other areas.
Tunisia and Qatar have agreed to establish an office for Qatar Fund for Development as part of the efforts exerted by Tunisia, in co-operation with several countries including Qatar, to improve living conditions in remote Tunisian villages. – QNA

Qatar condemns attack on religious convoy in Burkina Faso

Qatar has strongly condemned an attack on a religious convoy in northern Burkina Faso, which caused deaths and injuries.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of their motives and reasons.
The statement expressed Qatar’s condolences to the victims’ families, the government and people of Burkina Faso, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
