Qatar University (QU) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) to promote joint co-operation in social and research work.
The memorandum consists of exchanging of experiences and knowledge between the two parties, including publications, periodicals, studies, statistics and data related to social and humanitarian work, joint organisation of conferences and meetings, training, research and other areas of mutual interest.
Both sides affirmed that this agreement comes with the belief in the vital and effective role that government bodies play in serving the country and the society, and in seeking to exchange information and experiences to raise the efficiency of performance in accordance with the comprehensive quality standards,the specific jurisdictions and legislations in the country.
Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University Dr Rashid al-Kuwari said the university was keen to support and enhance the work with Qatar Red Crescent to establish joint co-operation in various fields related to the scientific, administrative, technical and research fields, and to achieve this, the two sides agreed to sign this memorandum as a basis for joint co-operation between the two parties.
For his part, Secretary-General of the Qatar Red Crescent Society Ali bin Hassan al-Hammadi said that the MoU will enrich the humanitarian work with the latest studies, statistics and conferences, which benefit the relief staff and which make them aware of the latest developments.
