Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafizur Rehman has said that the government was committed to improve healthcare facilities to the people of the region.
Talking on the occasion of a visit to a mobile hospital, the Gilgit Baltistan CM said that as part of such efforts the provincial government procured three mobile hospitals costing Rs6.8mn each. 
He said the these healthcare facilities were equipped with modern facilities including X-Ray machines, laboratory, ultrasound machine, OPD, ICU, CCU, ECG, G machine and cardiac monitor.
He said that the people of far flung areas would also take benefit from these modern hospitals which number would be increased to five in order to benefit maximum people of the area.
He said the provincial government accorded top priorities to the health sector and introduced a number of reforms in it, yielding positive results. 
He said that the government had increased budget by 76% for the healthcare sector which reflected the government’s sincere efforts for uplift of this crucial sector.
He added that the government would soon formally inaugurate the mobile hospitals and had directed the concerned officials to work out standard operating procedures in this regard.
