Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA), in collaboration with the CFA Society Doha, organised a free CFA information session recently to raise awareness among finance professionals on the importance of being certified and what they could expect from taking this course at QFBA.
Participants from different sectors in Qatar such as Georgetown University, QNB, Shell Qatar and KPMG in Qatar, joined the session.
QFBA and the CFA Society are successfully implementing programmes that work towards creating a knowledge-based economy, according to a press statement.
Dr Mohamed Abdullah al-Emadi, acting CEO of QFBA, said: “Since inception, we have been implementing innovative approaches in honing the right skills among finance professionals. In line with Qatar National Vision 2030, we have taken it upon ourselves to keep the young professionals abreast with changing economic conditions and how they best strategise workable solutions that aim towards operational excellence and organisational prowess. Such initiatives only strengthen our motto and reach out to the masses.”
CFA Society Qatar executive director Enis Kefi added, “Our mission at CFA Society Doha is to raise the professional standards in the Qatar capital market by supporting the professional development of our members and of the entire investment community. This event is a significant step in this direction.
“The free session hosted by QFBA is one of the activities designed to inform investment professionals about the need to invest in their education and about the benefits and the challenges of the CFA programme. We are extremely happy to join hands with QFBA in order to drive Qatar National Vision 2030 ahead. This is just the start and we would keep hosting such initiatives more often to increase the professionalism in the Qatar financial markets.”
QFBA was established in 2009 under the auspices of the Qatar Financial Centre Authority to raise the financial services industry’s standards and help organisations and professionals achieve their learning and business objectives. The academy specialises in providing training and developing the financial sector. The CFA Institute is the global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence and credentials. CFA Society Doha works closely with regulators, employers, universities and investors to build a better investment profession that serves the community.
