HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada met with US Undersecretary of Energy, Mark Wesley Menezes. 
The meeting took place on the sidelines of International Energy Forum (IEF), which concluded its 16th edition in the Indian capital, New Delhi. The forum was held under the theme ‘Global Energy Transition: An enhanced role for the dialogue’.
The two sides discussed ways to promote co-operation between the State of Qatar and the United States, especially in the fields of energy and joint investment with US companies. They also discussed ways to activate the memorandum of understanding (MoU), which was signed on the sidelines of the strategic meeting that was recently held in Washington. 
Both parties also discussed aspects of co-operation in the field of cyber security, especially in the energy sector and the importance of activating this co-operation on a bilateral and international level.  HE the Minister of Energy and Industry expressed Qatar’s appreciation for the US investments and companies operating in Qatar, which are a solid foundation for further future co-operation and partnerships between both countries or in other parts in the world. 
HE Dr al-Sada hailed the strong relations which have been established and are being consolidated by His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and US President Donald Trump. HE the Minister also met with India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, where they discussed the aspects of joint co-operation between both countries in the energy, industry and investment fields. 
HE Dr al-Sada expressed pride in the current fruitful co-operation between both countries, confirming Qatar’s determination to continue its work as a reliable supplier of LNG, oil, fertilisers and petrochemicals to India. During the meeting, both parties expressed their desire in building on the longstanding and strong relations between them to achieve further economic co-operation in the field. 
HE the Minister had participated on Wednesday in the panel discussion held as part of the IEF under the theme ‘Global Shifts: The Future of Global Energy Security – Finding New Balances’. The discussion touched on the effect of international shifts on the supply and demand of energy sources and their trade movement. 
During the discussion, Dr al-Sada highlighted the importance of returning investments in the energy sector adding that energy sources will remain the main pillar for achieving the development goals in all countries of in the foreseeable future.
