The decision by India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to re-conduct examinations of Maths for Class X and Economics for Class XII after the question papers allegedly leaked has hit hard several students and their parents in Qatar also.
The travel as well as coaching plans of many students and their families have gone haywire. Many of them were due to travel this week.
Syed Shoukath Ali, principal of Ideal Indian School, said that the dates for the fresh examinations and other details will be announced within a week.
“However, the concerned students and their parents are affected much. The class XII students had made all the arrangements for their travel back home. Now they have to reschedule. Many of the class X students also had made plans for a short break. Now, we will have to reschedule the opening date for the class XI,” he added.
Several parents who had made arrangements for travel also have to rearrange their tickets and leave schedule causing great financial loss and inconvenience.
“My son was supposed to fly home tonight as he had completed the examinations. Now he has to stay back to take the rescheduled examination for Economics. This will also affect his preparations for higher studies," lamented a parent.
The Class XII Economics examination was held on Monday and the Class X Maths examination on Wednesday.
